The King Phunchung Namgyal gave full autonomy of the Limboos with
the following Royal Proclamation:
The Tsong or Subba or Limboo Chiefs are hereby authorized to rule their
districts under the title of "Subbas" with all the facilities of enjoying their tribal
rites in social and religious functions by beating the royal band called Negara
(Perlge) or cattle-dum.
