     APPELLATE JURISDICTION
The word appellate comes from the word ‘Appeal’. Appellate jurisdiction is
the power vested in higher courts to review the decision of lower courts.
In Sikkim, the court of Maharaja was the highest court of appeal. Any party
dissatisfied with the decision of the Chief Court could approach the Court of
                    Maharaja.
